Home EV charger for a company or lease car

If you drive a company or lease car, you can often still have a charger at home, but there are a few extra things to check. The charger belongs to your house, not the car, so it's your property that needs to be suitable, and if you rent, your landlord's consent comes first.

For a company car, ask your employer how home charging is handled. Many reimburse home charging costs, and HMRC publishes an advisory electricity rate per mile for company cars that employers can use, though it changes, so check the current figure. Some employers offer a charger or a contribution as part of a scheme, so ask before you buy one yourself.

For a salary sacrifice or lease car, the leasing company usually doesn't care which charger you choose, but you're responsible for the installation. Choose a charger that will suit your next car too, since lease terms are short: a universal Type 2 connector works with almost every EV on the road.

If the car is new, tell us the model and your timeframe in the quote form and we'll help match you with an installer who can be ready for delivery day.
